During the week of Nov. 16-20, University of Northern Iowa Study Abroad will be hosting International Education Week. This week will include many educational and cultural events that will try to get as many students involved as possible.
“It’ll be bigger and better this year,” said Susan Jordan, secretary III of International Programs. “Our goal is for every UNI student to have some type of international experience. It can be traveling abroad, meeting international students, enrolling in a class, trying new foods, watching a movie, something.”
During this week, there will be events held all day around campus, including informational tables, movies, coffee and tea samples, music, discussions and more.
Staff at UNI Study Abroad stressed how the benefits of any experience outweigh the costs.
“Gaining an international experience is beneficial to any individual,” stated Kurt Meredith, assistant provost for International Programs. “Students will be more competitive in their work field and a more effective global citizen.”
