The University of Northern Iowa has always been dedicated to the community – before it even became an university. Even in its early days, it helped orphans and taught local kids.
Keeping an eye on the youth of the state for education
Ideally, every teenager in Iowa and not only should reach to our university and get educated. Numbers keep going up with every new year though, which is encouraging for us.
We believe we are going the right way. With all these, it does take more time to ensure a full education to everyone in need. Our team of advisors will help undecided students make a more informed decision based on what they would like to do in the future.
Making higher education more affordable than ever
We now everyone would love to be highly educated, but not everyone has the possibility to go there. Costs for higher education are quite high and not everyone can afford it.
This is the reason wherefore we try so hard to keep the costs down. We are currently in the low range of schooling institutions around the country in terms of pricing, but our standards are high enough to ensure great value for money for our students and their families.
There is literally something for everyone
We have always tried to give to the community, from the days we looked after orphans until today, when we look after our students' education and future.
This is one of the reasons wherefore we try to provide as many majors and courses as possible. We currently have around 90 majors to choose from. No matter how picky or sophisticated you are, chances are you will be able to find something right away.
A great interaction between our students, professors and rest of the staff
We aim to provide a friendly atmosphere on site. We know that not everyone is excessively social, so we try to integrate the less communicative students as well.
Fortunately, we have done a great job so far. Our college publication is one of our “weapons”, as it helps students and professors interact and build connections. Our classes are conducted in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere too, for everyone to feel comfortable.
Distance learning is also a viable option for those in need
We are fully aware of the fact that not everyone might be able to attend courses in person. Some people have to work, while others have families. The reasons can go on forever.
For this reason, many of our majors can be obtained over the Internet as well. In other words, you can study and even attend classes from the comfort of your bedroom. Obviously, this option is not available for every major, as there are a few exceptions as well.
Great absorption rates and success for our graduates
The success of a university is given by multiple factors. For example, a growing number of students is one of the clues – luckily, we have this already.
More importantly, it depends on how its graduates are doing once they are done studying. Our employment rate is over 88%. In other words, 88% of our graduates find jobs and glowing careers in the industries they studies. What else can be more encouraging?
