In response to “Get involved today”

In response to the "Get involved today" opinion, not all who attend college want to "leave their mark."

There may be about 60 percent of students who are not involved, but many of those already know about the various organizations and have made the choice not to join.

When I attended the University of Northern Iowa I was involved in one club, for one semester, and that was more than enough to convince me that I did not want to do it any more.

My best friend, and roommate for most of my time on campus, was heavily involved on the other hand. She enjoyed doing things with others.

There are a lot of people who are happy just going to class, spending time with the circle of friends that they already have and just getting through the everyday grind of classes.

I have never looked back at my time at UNI and wished that I had joined more organizations.

I have, however, looked back and felt joy in the fact that I knew that those groups were there if someone wanted to join them. UNI is one of the few colleges that offers so many choices for its students.
